Gothic Wedding Invitations

Gothic Wedding Invitations

One of the most unique wedding themes that are preferred by some couples is a Gothic wedding. Highlighted with elements from the Gothic culture, such weddings are usually dark and mysterious in terms of the wedding décor, clothing, hairstyles, makeup, and invitations. As are common misconceptions with many cultures, the Gothic wedding theme likened to ghosts and haunted places and events. While this is a part of the Gothic theme, it does not entirely make up this theme. As mentioned earlier, the Gothic culture speaks of darkness and mystery, and therefore, such elements should reflect in the entire setup. Here, we will speak about Gothic wedding invitations, and some ideas on designing them.

With all your Gothic wedding ideas in place, the invitations should not be forgotten, as they give your guests and idea of what to look forward to at your wedding. Gothic wedding invitations can be designed by yourself, or by means of the many Gothic wedding invitation templates available online. There are some elements that go into designing a Gothic wedding invitation, to give it that authentic look.

The best colors to use as a background for wedding invitations such as these are red, orange, black, purple, gray, and deep blue. While red and black is a very common choice, some couples like to experiment with colors such as pink and gray, as these are not only Gothic but also elegant at the same time. Some brides like to match the invitation backgrounds with the colors of the Gothic wedding dresses they have chosen for themselves. While this is the basic color scheme, there are other elements that can be added to the background. For instance, wine glasses with their deep red colors add an interesting touch to a black and white background. A lot of people like to add black flower borders to the invitations, or have an entirely black background that highlights two red roses, or a bunch of white hearts in a corner. A lone street that shows a couple walking down it, towards a lone house, shone under the dim moonlight, makes for another unique background. Some people choose to use skull designs and the Grim Reaper on the invitations. You may also use some of these Gothic symbols for your wedding invitations. Finally, the best idea is to have a black and white picture of the couple as an element in the background, along with the aforementioned elements. Nothing looks better than this one.

Gothic wedding invitation wording can be as simple as those on regular wedding invitations, or more serious. Unlike regular wedding invitation wording, Gothic wedding invitation wording does not sound happy or reflect elation. It has underlying joy and happiness, not blatant elation. Here, the wording clearly states that the parents of the bride and groom invite the guests to the wedding of their children, at the venue followed by the time. However, adding a twist to this wording is what sets Gothic wedding invitations apart. For instance, if the wedding invitations are sent out by the bride and groom themselves, the phrase ‘Till Death Do Us Part’ is commonly seen on Gothic invitations. Another option is to start the invitation with the phrase ‘As We Walk The Night’, or the phrase ‘Come & Bear Witness as their Souls are Bound’. The wedding reception event could be given a special name such as ‘The Haunted Ball’. Using a calligraphic font is a great way to make all the wording look authentic.

Finally, Gothic wedding invitations can be as glamorous, as dark, or as elegant as you like them to be. Some of you may prefer just an underlying feel of the Gothic subculture to your invitations, while for others, just like the wedding theme, these wedding invitations have to be blatantly Gothic. However you like it, just ensure that you keep the basics in mind, and send out the message to your guests. Now designing these invitations yourself is not a daunting task, and in fact, if it is cheap Gothic wedding invitations you want, then this is your best bet. With some help from the ideas mentioned here, you will be able to create some great invitations and have a clear message sent out to your guests, about what to expect at your wedding!

Beach Wedding Flower Arrangements

Beach Wedding Flower Arrangements

Can any wedding be complete without beautiful and fragrant flowers decked out as centerpieces and bouquets? Flowers are an integral part of a wedding and whatever the wedding theme, you just cannot do without wedding flowers. From centerpieces to bouquets and boutonnieres to wedding ceremony decorations, wedding flowers play a crucial part in exuding the wedding theme and atmosphere. If you are planning on a beach wedding, then you need wedding flower arrangements that reflect the beach theme. Since you will be having the wedding ceremony and reception out in the beach, it is a good idea to opt for flowers that are hardy, which will stand up to the heat. Freshly cut tropical flowers like cymbidium orchids, bird-of-paradise, dendrobium orchids, phalaenopsis orchids, anthurium and heliconias work well for a beach wedding. These colorful flowers not only dresses up the wedding venue, but they are also hardy enough not to wither in the heat. Here we will give you some ideas for beach wedding flower arrangements.

For the wedding bouquets for the bride, you can choose something elaborate with a mix of three to four flowers. For the bridesmaid a less elaborate floral arrangement will be more suitable. If you want a show stopping bouquet for your wedding, then why not opt for a cascading bridal bouquet fashioned out of cymbidium orchids, chartreuse flowers, gloriosa lilies, leucodendron, and hosta leaves. For a touch of the whimsy, add a few satin ribbons in lime green or violet to give the cascading bouquet a more lush and romantic look.

Since the bride is carrying something so spectacular as a bridal bouquet, you need something less dramatic for the bridesmaid. To tone down the exuberance of the cascading bridal bouquet, bridesmaid bouquets fashioned out of just one kind of flower would look perfect. Each bridesmaid can carry a compact bouquet made out of mini calla lilies in yellow or pink tied with a ribbon. Alternatively you can also choose pink or orange nerine lilies or even yellow crocus, and oncidium orchids. Keeping the bridesmaids bouquet more compact and streamlined will help in highlighting the beauty of the more dramatic cascading bridal bouquet.

For beach wedding centerpieces the best thing to do would be to mix the flowers with some traditional beachy items like paper boats, sea shells, starfish or pebbles. One great beach wedding centerpiece ideas is to use big wide mouthed spiral shell as a vase. Glue the base of the shell to a small rectangular ceramic plate with a bit of glue and fill the shell with water. Arrange a few flowers like purple scabiosa and baby’s breath inside the shell vase. To complete the beach theme scatter a few round and oval pebbles on the ceramic plate. This floral centerpiece is very easy to create and the nautical accents of the shell vase and the pebbles gives the centerpiece a nice beachy vibe.

Another good beach wedding flower arrangement is to use a rattan planter as a centerpiece and fill it up with white orchids and long stemmed white calla lilies. Choose a long rattan planter and paint it in pristine white paint color. Line the inside of the planter with a plastic plate and then fill it with a piece of florist foam. Trim the stems of all the flowers to the same height and place them inside the planter. Use green leaves like palm leaves or hosta leaves to add a touch of color to the centerpiece. Since this floral arrangement is a large one, you should place just one centerpiece in each table.

These were some ideas for beach wedding flower arrangements. If you decide on having a wedding arch for solemnizing your wedding then you can decorate it with phalaenopsis orchids and anthurium along with hosta leaves to give it a bright and vibrant look. Beach weddings can be made into one of the most perfect wedding venues if you choose the right flowers and floral arrangements.
